What Is Day One Living?

Day One Living is a first-of-its-kind lifestyle collaboration between three Raleigh companies: Raleigh Custom Homes, Dwell Proper, and Best of Raleigh. Centered on three showcase homes in the 2026 Triangle Parade of Homes, the partnership means every room, from the furniture to the rugs to the art on the walls, is curated by Dwell Proper from eight nationally recognized brands with roots in North Carolina. And unlike a typical Parade home, none of it is staging. All of it is for sale, alongside the house itself.

That's the shift. Buy the house. Buy the furniture. Open the door, and start living.

Why Now

Raleigh has been welcoming a steady wave of buyers relocating from higher-cost markets like the Bay Area, the New York metro, and South Florida. Many of these buyers are arriving with an expectation shaped by the markets they left: that a home at this caliber comes finished, curated, and ready to live in from day one. Day One Living is Raleigh Custom Homes' answer to that shift, and the first time a Triangle builder has delivered on it at the Parade of Homes.

As Raleigh Custom Homes principal Connie Allen put it:

The Homes

The 2026 collection includes three showcase homes, each with its own character:

• The Vanderbilt in North Ridge: Tradition, Reimagined

• The Carnegie in Country Club Hills: Legacy, Renewed

• The Rockefeller in North Ridge: Heritage, Refined

Each is open to the public during the Triangle Parade of Homes, giving Raleigh buyers a rare chance to walk through a completely finished, fully furnished home before making a decision.

The Brands Behind the Design

Dwell Proper curated each home's furnishings from eight nationally recognized brands, including Theodore Alexander, Universal Furniture, Fairfield Chair, and Lane Venture. It's the kind of furniture typically sourced through interior designers and design-trade showrooms, now placed directly in these homes and for sale alongside them.

For homebuyers, the value shows up in two places: time and confidence.
